pycarta-service-agent

Executable delivery for pycarta's Service Manager support.

Carta managed services turn your own code into something the Carta platform can permission, share, and invoke, while it runs on hardware you control.

This package exists to deliver a platform-specific service agent executable, as installed by pip. Alongside it, the package exports the utilities that wrap that executable for use from Python. They cover locating it, building its arguments, reading the configuration it writes, and exchanging messages with it while it runs. Those utilities ship in the same wheel as the executable, so the two always agree on how it is launched and how it is spoken to.

pycarta is the consumer, and it handles all of that on your behalf. There is no need to install or call this package directly.

Installation

It comes in as part of the pycarta service extra:

pip install "pycarta[service]"

pip selects the wheel matching your OS and architecture and installs the single binary bundled in it. Wheels are published for:

• macOS, Apple Silicon and Intel
• Linux, x86-64 and aarch64, glibc and musl
• Windows, x86-64

Standard library only, no third-party dependencies.

Usage

find_binary() reports the installed path of the executable:

import pycarta_service_agent

path = pycarta_service_agent.find_binary()

The remaining utilities are grouped by concern into command, config, errors, ipc, and messages, and are documented in place. Every name they export carries a docstring covering what it is and how the executable behaves around it.
