Get OBJECT keyword from a fits file

Project description

Get the OBJECT keyword from a fits file.

But like... fast.

Install and run

pip install figo

In the command line,

figo file.fits

or in the Python REPL,

>>> import figo
>>> figo('file.fits')

Don't install, just run

uvx figo file.fits

FAQ

Is it fast?

comparison

This is such an unfair comparison! astropy is amazing and does so much more!

Could it be faster?

Try the function figo.afap('file.fits') to go as fast as possible.

Can I get a keyword other than OBJECT?

No. Do one thing and do it well.

Is it standard compliant?

Yes!

Does it work on Windows?

Why wouldn't it? 🤨
