CLI tool to redact and unredact sensitive information like ip addresses, emails and domains.
pip install --upgrade pyredactkit && pyredactor

Features

Redacts and Unredacts the following from your text files. 📄 ✍️

• names 👤
• sg nric 🆔
• credit cards 🏧
• domain names 🌐
• emails ✉️
• ipv4 📟
• ipv6 📟
• base64 🅱️

Pre-requisites

• Python3 installed
• pip installed

How to use

Demo:

Quick install

python -m pip install pyredactkit

Redact a single file

pyredactkit test.txt 

Unredact the file

pyredactkit redacted_test.txt -u .hashshadow_test.txt.json 

Install nltk data for redacting names

python -c "import nltk

Redact names from text file

pyredactkit test.txt -t name

Use from github source

Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/brootware/PyRedactKit.git && cd PyRedactKit

Install required dependencies via poetry and download nltk.

python -m pip install --user poetry
poetry install

Run as below to redact a single file

$ poetry run pyredactkit ip_test.txt

To redact multiple files from a directory and place it in a new directory

poetry run pyredactkit dir_test -d redacted_dir

Optional Help Menu as below

usage: pyredactkit [-h] [-u UNREDACT] [-t REDACTIONTYPE] [-d DIROUT] [-r] [-e EXTENSION] file [file ...]

Read in a file or set of files, and return the result.

positional arguments:
  file                  Path of a file or a directory of files. Usage: pyredactkit [file/filestoredact]

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -u UNREDACT, --unredact UNREDACT
                        Option to unredact masked data. Usage: pyredactkit [redacted_file] -u [.hashshadow.json] (default: None)
  -t REDACTIONTYPE, --redactiontype REDACTIONTYPE
                        Type of data to redact. names, nric, dns, emails, ipv4, ipv6, base64. Usage: pyredactkit [file/filestoredact] -t ip (default: None)
  -d DIROUT, --dirout DIROUT
                        Output directory of the file. Usage: pyredactkit [file/filestoredact] -d [redacted_dir] (default: None)
  -r, --recursive       Search through subfolders (default: True)
  -e EXTENSION, --extension EXTENSION
                        File extension to filter by. (default: )
