Pre-release

This release is a pre-release and may not be stable for production use.

PySmart

An elegant, utility-driven Python string extension library. PySmart supercharges native Python string implementations with built-in validation formatting, safe conversion mechanics, and robust text-processing helpers natively baked straight into the object context.

🛠 Features

  • SmartStr: Drop-in str subclass companion offering fluid API method chains.
  • Inline Validation Helpers: Fast .isEmail() and international-ready .isPhoneNumberFormat() checks.
  • Web Utilities: Standardized, string-safe URL creation with .slugify().
  • Zero-Crash Conversions: Built-in error-insulated numerical parsers via .safeInt() and .safeFloat().

📦 Installation

Install the library directly from PyPI:

pip install pysmart-lib

🚀 Quick Usage Blueprint

from pysmart import SmartStr

# Initialize smoothly just like a raw string object
user_input = SmartStr(" Fixing your String Data! ")

# Clean whitespace and build standard URL slugs smoothly
print(user_input.removeWhiteSpace()) # "FixingyourStringData!"
print(user_input.slugify())          # "fixing-your-string-data"

# Safe parsing without throwing ValueErrors or crashing processes
invalid_num = SmartStr("abc-123")
print(invalid_num.safeInt(default=0)) # 0
