PyWinGUI
PyWinGUI is a proprietary Windows GUI automation SDK for desktop application testing and workflow automation.
The package provides a public Python API backed by a protected native runtime. The public source is available for integration, inspection, and debugging of the API surface. The runtime implementation remains protected.

The protected runtime contains the automation engine, control detection, window orchestration, OCR flow, AI/error recovery, and licensing enforcement.
Installation
Install from PyPI:
pip install pywingui
PyWinGUI currently targets:
Python 3.13 on Windows x64
Quick Start
from pywingui.app import AppContext
from pywingui.base import BaseWindow
ctx = AppContext()
ctx.connect(title_regex=".*My Application.*")
window = BaseWindow(ctx, "My Application")
window.click("Login")
window.fill("Username", "demo")
window.fill("Password", "secret")
window.click("Submit")
Runtime
The public SDK loads the protected native runtime automatically. A normal installation includes:
pywingui/native/pywingui_native_runtime.cp313-win_amd64.pyd
Do not move, rename, unpack, decompile, or modify the native runtime.
Tests
Run public tests:
python -m pytest tests -q
License
PyWinGUI is proprietary software. Source access is provided only for public SDK integration, inspection, and debugging. The protected native runtime, licensing logic, automation engine, OCR logic, AI/error recovery logic, and related implementation details remain confidential and owned by PyWinGUI Engineering.
