Identify and retag mislabeled audio files using acoustic fingerprinting.

Requirements

• Python 3.9+
• ffmpeg
• An API key from AudD or ACRCloud

Install ffmpeg

Installation

pip install retag

Or from source:

Usage

retag <path>                         Scan, identify and tag
retag <path> --interactive           Step-by-step guided mode
retag <path> --dry-run               Preview without writing changes
retag <path> --resume                Skip files already processed
retag get <file|folder>              Inspect embedded metadata
retag get <file> --extract-cover     Extract embedded cover art

-i, --interactive     Step-by-step guided mode
--overwrite, -f       Retag files that already have tags
--keep-name           Keep original filenames
--no-cover            Skip cover art embedding
--clear-cache         Clear cached state for a folder
--dry-run             Preview changes without writing
--resume              Skip already-processed files
--provider P          Force a provider: audd or acrcloud
--confidence N        Minimum confidence score (default: 60)
--format EXT,...      Limit to specific formats, e.g. mp3,flac
--audd-token TOKEN    AudD API key
--acr-key KEY         ACRCloud access key
--acr-secret SEC      ACRCloud access secret
--version             Show version
