OpenBao Migration Lint — HashiCorp Vault

Runs the same checker as our npm package on a Node.js runtime that pip installs for you (nodejs-wheel-binaries) - no system Node.js needed. Your files are checked locally.

OpenBao Migration Lint — HashiCorp Vault

OpenBao migration check for HashiCorp Vault scripts, Terraform, Helm values and server HCL: 14 rules, each with the OpenBao fix

Install

openbao-migration-lint file

Node 18+. The same 14 rules as the VS Code extension, from a terminal or CI.

Free

  • Every finding in the open file, with the Vault line that breaks and the OpenBao fix, free and offline: 14 rules covering BSL Vault images (1.15.0 or later), HashiCorp Helm charts, HashiCorp package repos, storage backends, the 6 auto-unseal seals that became plugins in 2.7.0, auth methods, secrets engines, database plugins, VAULT_* variables, the vault binary, hvs. token checks, disable_mlock and Enterprise licence settings.
  • --rules lists every rule

With a licence ($29 once)

  • Scan the whole workspace in one pass and export one migration report for the change ticket (every file, line, rule and fix in one Markdown report), $29 once, one licence key per person or team seat.
openbao-migration-lint --dir ./templates --report html --out report.html
