safari_writer
A text editor with some support for style codes. UI is inspired by AtariWriter but there are a lot of differences.
Installation
pipx install safari-writer
Usage
safari-writer
Follow the menus.
Features
- Text editor.
- Keybindings mostly modern, but somewhat influence by original Atari.
- Search and replace
- Style codes/printer codes
- Print/export. Prints/exports to markdown, ANSI preview or postscript.
- Proofreader, a spell checker
- Mailmerge, including a record editor with a default schema.
- Safari DOS, a menu'ed way to do some file browsing and manipulation
Roadmap
- Clippy helper, but based more on Eliza.
- An xbase III style alternative user interface for the mail merge data file.
- Maybe support for the old binary format of Atari Writer files.

I have no relationship to Atari. This is Safari Writer and has no relationship to Atari.
