Portable tools for preparing simulation-ready mesh and model assets

sim-asset-tools

sim-asset-tools prepares portable assets for robotics and physics simulation. Its sim-assets CLI provides standalone mesh processing, object-bundle generation, and reusable primitives for higher-level asset workflows.

Installation

Add the CLI and library to a project:

uv add sim-asset-tools

Project wheels support CPython 3.10–3.13 on Linux x86_64 or ARM64, Windows x86_64, and macOS 12 or newer on Apple Silicon.

Supported workflows

Reusable workflow primitives

Higher-level asset packages can build on the public sim_asset_tools.surface module for OpenVDB-to-ACVD surface generation and sim_asset_tools.publish for atomic directory publication. Manifest JSON, path, and hashing helpers in sim_asset_tools.formats.manifest are schema-neutral; each workflow owns and validates its persistent format. Prepared object bundles use the sim-asset/object/v1 schema.
