Dataform plugin for SQLFluff

This project is based on dbt plugin for SQLFluff and is licensed under the MIT License.

This plugin works with SQLFluff, the SQL linter for humans, to correctly parse and compile SQL projects using Dataform.

SQLFluff configuration

As dataform uses mainly '.sqlx' files you will need to set the '.sqlfluff' as below:

templater = dataform
dialect = bigquery
sql_file_exts = .sql,.sqlx

Development

With mise installed, run mise install from the repo root once to provision Python, uv, and a .venv directory. The first install fires a postinstall hook that runs mise run sync, which installs the test dependencies into the venv. After that:

mise run test     # run the test suite
mise run sync     # re-install deps after pulling changes to requirements.txt
pytest test/      # or invoke pytest directly (the venv is auto-activated)

The compose.yml / Dockerfile.dev setup remains for those who prefer it.
