The a7 runtime includes eleven read-only model tools, including original PDF delivery, structural browsing, evidence selection and reviewed-reference navigation. The prepared library retains the qualified 441-package source baseline. See knowledge access for representation and coverage limits.
Install and connect your model
- Download and extract StandardsForge ready 0.1.0a7 to a permanent folder.
- Run setup below. It installs the already-compiled library and checks the model connection.
- Copy the generated configuration into your model host and restart its MCP connection.
No Git clone, standards download, PDF compilation or manual database paths are needed. Allow several minutes for the first local indexing pass and enough disk space for the approximately 1.08 GB download, extracted packs and installed library.
Windows — install 64-bit Python 3.12 with the Python launcher, then double-click setup.cmd. Everything needed for the library and MCP is bundled for this profile. Terminal equivalent:

Linux or macOS — install Python 3.11+ with venv, open a terminal in the extracted folder, then run:
sh ./setup.sh --mcp-online
This option explicitly downloads MCP dependencies. Standards content and core code come from the archive; queries run locally. On Debian/Ubuntu, install python3-venv if Python reports that ensurepip is unavailable. See platform requirements.
Setup prints the paths to these ready-to-copy files, with your actual installation paths already filled in:

Keep your other server entries. Host locations and CLI registration commands are in the integration guide. Setup does not edit host settings for you.

Use python3 on Linux/macOS. Core setup never uses a package index. Setup verifies all 441 packages and replays 52 bounded real-document checks before reporting readiness. Repeat the same setup command to revalidate. For an upgrade, extract the new version into a new folder and use its generated host configuration; keep the old folder until the new connection works.

The PyPI package contains the CLI and library code. Standards content comes from the prepared archive above or packs you install separately. The prepared archive already includes this same code wheel.

The archive also includes the dependency-free core wheel, one-command setup, CLI/MCP launchers, generated host configuration, local policies, checksums, build provenance, qualification records, and the Windows offline MCP dependencies. New runtime tools operate on this existing evidence; corpus-wide semantic review and newer outline representations are separate work.
Validation and evidence limits
Release acceptance covers first and repeated installation on Windows, Linux, Intel macOS, and Apple silicon macOS, source CI, 52 bounded real-document cases, MCP connectivity and public artifact identity. See the a7 release evidence for observed results, exact hashes and qualification scope.
This is an alpha release. Source-linked page text, automated outlines, and reviewed records retain their distinct coverage and review status. The bounded checks do not establish corpus-wide visual or semantic completeness or globally optimal compression. Applicability, project baselines, and compliance decisions remain with the responsible engineering authorities.
Complete prepared library snapshot
The table lists all 438 source-library packs in the September 21, 2026 acquisition snapshot, from the DLA ASSIST dataset marked updated September 18, 2026. The three additional outline/recovery packages are listed above. Each row preserves the selected edition composition at acquisition; it does not imply publisher currentness or project applicability. Historical editions, restricted content, and other DLA document classes are outside this snapshot.
Of these packs, 413 contain the complete selected current public composition. The other 25 contain every publicly exposed current component but are explicitly partial because 26 current components are restricted and are not included. An additional 26 restricted-only active records have no readable pack and therefore are not part of this prepared library. Titles and document dates below come from the recorded DLA manifest; “public” describes the acquisition boundary, not blanket republication rights. Readable labels expand DLA suffixes such as (2) and NOT 3 to Change 2 and Notice 3 while preserving the exact DLA identifier beside them.
