Tools to help people shoot for the stars

Project description

What the function is this?

Stargazers is a module of stuff that I frequently find myself remaking and reusing for the personal projects. Now instead of writing the code again, I just put it in Stargazers and import solution in my other project.

Eventually, I decided to concede to the vague notion of "doing this right", repackaged it all as a Poetry project, annotated almost every single bit of code, and decided to open source it. As much as I don't really like the idea of code I wrote being used to train AI Slop™, at least if there's good code in the training data, then maybe it won't be quite so Slop™. That said, I would really prefer you do not train your model on my code.

I attempted to most of the swearing and some of the snark during this refactor. I will not remove all of it.

Included are also some mildly interesting batch scripts in... \scripts as well that I use during hobbyist development. They're really just there to provide a facsimile of a build system, and to make activating a Poetry virtual environment less of a pain in the butt on Windows 10.

Contributing

I would cry tears of joy if you like my little library enough to contribute, to be quite honest.

You will need poetry installed on your machine to contribute.

To start up the project, just clone from github and run:

poetry check --strict
poetry sync --compile --all-groups

(Note that this is most of what scripts\update.bat does)

This should give you a working environment for the project.

Develop your branch, run scripts\lint.bat on it (or equilvalent), and make a PR. Your name will be added to a contributors section in this document after your pull request is merged.
