tCode

tCode is a terminal-based coding agent powered by tAI. It reads, writes, and edits files in your project, runs shell commands, searches your codebase, and browses the web -- all from a chat-style REPL in your terminal, with your approval before anything that changes your system.

Install

pip install tcode-cli

Requires Python 3.9 through 3.14, on Windows or Linux.

Getting started

tcode

The first run asks you to trust the current folder, then logs you in with your tAI account. From there, just type what you want:

> refactor the auth module to use the new token format
> find every place we call the old payments endpoint
> write tests for the parser in src/parser.py

What it can do

Read, write, and edit files in your project, with a permission prompt before anything is changed
Run shell commands (bash), with the exact command shown before it runs
Search your codebase with grep and glob, and search the web
Checkpoint and undo file changes per turn with /rewind
Plan mode (/plan) to have it read and reason about your code without touching anything, then show you a plan before acting
Attach context from your other tools -- /gmail, /notion, /github, /linear search live as you type, with Tab to pick a result and attach it to your next message
Remote control -- pair a machine once (/pair <code>) and trigger it from the tAI web app
Configurable thinking effort (/effort) and code syntax theme (/theme)

Run /help inside tCode for the full command list.

Configuration

Settings, saved credentials, and crash logs live in ~/.tcode. Run /config to see current settings, or /logout to sign out.
