This REST API service is used to manage toolforge replica.my.cnf.

It decouples the functionality of reading and writing replica.my.cnf files away from this repository and into its server environment.

Local development environment (guideline)

Requirements

You need to have Poetry installed globally. Follow the official instructions here: https://python-poetry.org/docs/master#installation

Testing with tox on debian

Clone the repo (instructions here https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/repos/cloud/toolforge/replica-cnf).

Install tox (this is the only debian-specific part):

~:$ apt install tox

Or, you can install tox with pipx (recommended) if you prefer.

Move to the directory where you cloned the repo, and run tox:

/path/to/repo/replica-cnf:$ tox

That will run the tests and create a virtualenv that you can use to manually debug anything you need, to enter it:

/path/to/repo/replica-cnf:$ source .tox/py3-unit/bin/activate

Deployment

This package follows the standard procedure outlined here:
