urban-green-infrastructure-utac
GenesisAeon Package 108 — urban green infrastructure hydrology. Companion to landscape-restoration-hydrology-utac (P107): the urban physical setting rather than the rural/riparian one. Deliberately has no UTAC/CREP/AFET bridge — see DISCLAIMER.md.
For a plain-language explanation of the same topic (German, no jargon, written for general audiences), see WHITEPAPER.md.
A caught statistic
The source dialogue for this package cited "Nature 2026: sealing " reduces groundwater recharge 30-50%, r=-0.8971." Despite extensive searching, neither figure could be independently verified against any real paper — a suspiciously precise, four-decimal correlation coefficient with no findable source is a classic fabrication/ misattribution signature. The underlying mechanism (sealing reduces groundwater recharge) is real; this package uses a real, confirmed, more modest figure instead (Grischek et al. 1996, Dresden: -23%). See DISCLAIMER.md for the full story.
What's real here
- Grischek et al. (1996) — surface sealing reduced groundwater recharge by 23% in Dresden, Germany. A real, confirmed, modest figure — used deliberately in place of the unverifiable "30-50%, r=-0.8971" claim above.
- Zheng, Zou, Lounsbury, Wang & Wang (2021, Resources, Conservation and Recycling) — a real global synthesis: 2,375 samples from 75 studies across 21 countries (2005–2020), average 62% per-event rainfall retention for green roofs (0–100% range, driven by rainfall intensity, substrate depth, coverage, climate, vegetation, season).
- Gregoire & Clausen (2011) — an earlier, independent meta-analysis
of extensive green roofs specifically: 34–69% retention, average
56% — converges closely with Zheng et al.'s later, larger
synthesis.
