xense-cyclonedds
Xense-maintained redistribution of cyclonedds-nightly 2025.7.29 for applications that need its Python 3.9 support and DDS wire compatibility.
This is an independent redistribution, not an official Eclipse release. Eclipse Cyclone DDS is a trademark of the Eclipse Foundation. No endorsement is implied.
What is included
The Python code, native libraries, Python ABI tags and platform tags are copied unchanged from the corresponding upstream wheel. Only distribution metadata, attribution documents and wheel checksums are updated. This package follows a fixed upstream snapshot; it does not follow daily nightly builds.
Each wheel includes UPSTREAM.json with the original filename, PyPI download URL
and SHA-256. Original copyright and license files are retained, with additional
notices for the bundled native libraries.
Installation
pip install xense-cyclonedds==0.1.1
The Python import remains import cyclonedds. This distribution provides the same
module as cyclonedds and cyclonedds-nightly; do not install them together. When
migrating an existing environment, uninstall the previous provider before
installing this package, and update applications that explicitly depend on the
previous distribution name.
Upstream wheels cover CPython 3.9 through 3.13 on Windows x64, Linux x86_64 (manylinux2014), and macOS x86_64/ARM64. This release does not provide Linux ARM64 or Python 3.14 wheels. Support for a platform here does not imply that every Xense SDK component supports that platform.
License and attribution
Copyright remains with the upstream authors and contributors. The upstream main code is offered under EPL-2.0 OR BSD-3-Clause (Eclipse Distribution License 1.0). Xense exercises the BSD-3-Clause/EDL redistribution option. Third-party components retain their own terms, including the libmd5-rfc Zlib notice and the getopt public-domain notice. See the license files included in each wheel.
