Ekl_mgenomics
A tool for MAG (Metagenome Assembled Genome) taxonomy analysis using Blastn.
Installation
pip install Ekl-mgenomics
Usage
ekl_tax yourgenome.fasta
Requirements
-cd into your folder containing the genome.fasta file.
- BLAST+ must be installed on your system
- Internet connection for remote BLAST and Entrez queries
What it does
- Splits your fasta file into 200kb chunks per contig
- BLASTs each chunk against NCBI nt database
- Assigns taxonomy to each contig by majority vote
- Writes OrganismTaxonomy.tsv with full results
