SimVX IDE

SimVX's Python IDE, built on the engine's own UI: an editor with language-server completion and diagnostics, a debugger, and a terminal. The SimVX editor uses it for code. Most users want simvx, which includes it.

Pre-alpha. SimVX publishes development releases only (0.0.0.devN) and is under active development; the API changes between builds. Once stable versions ship to PyPI, development builds continue on pypi.simvx.com.

Install

pip install --pre simvx        # the whole engine (recommended)
pip install --pre simvx-ide    # the IDE alone, for any Python project

Latest development build: add --extra-index-url https://pypi.simvx.com/.

Use

simvx-ide                  # open the current directory
simvx-ide my_project/      # open a project folder
simvx-ide game.py          # open a file

What it has:

• Completion and diagnostics through pylsp, linting and formatting through ruff.
• A debugger through debugpy, and tracebacks that jump to the line.
• An integrated terminal, a file tree, tabs, find in files and a command palette.
