This module adds a verification on res.partner and account.move models ensuring that Fiscal positions with check Show Vies Warning can only be assigned to partners who have successfully passed VIES validation (vies_valid = True).

Use Cases / Context

This module was developed to prevent errors when setting the some Fiscal Position (for ex. in Spain location it’s Intra-community) if the partner’s VAT number is not registered in VIES

Configuration

To use this module you need:

• Go to Invoicing > Configuration > Settings and check Verify VAT Numbers

• Go to Invoicing > Configuration > Fiscal Position and create or select one

• Set Detect Automatically and VAT required, then set Show Vies Warning

Usage

Partner

1. Create or edit a partner.

2. Enter the VAT number.

3. Set the Fiscal Position that have Show Vies Warning active.

   • If the VAT is registered in VIES, the partner form can be saved.

   • Otherwise, Odoo will display a warning message.

Invoicing

1. Create a new invoice.

2. Select a partner who is not registered in VIES.

3. Set the Fiscal Position that have Show Vies Warning active and confirm the invoice.

   • If the VAT is registered in VIES, the invoice can be confirmed.

   • Otherwise, Odoo will display a warning message.
