Use Cases / Context

In multi-step deliveries that use pull rules, validating an upstream picking with a quantity different from the initial demand does not automatically propagate that variance to the next delivery step.

As a result, the downstream moves can keep the original demanded quantity even though the previous operation was completed with a lower or higher actual quantity.

This module keeps the stock flow aligned by updating the chained downstream moves to match the processed quantity.

Configuration

To enable the feature, go to Inventory > Configuration > Operation Types and open the picking type used for the upstream step of the delivery flow, such as Pick in a Pick + Ship route.

Enable the Variable Quantity option on that operation type.

Usage

When the Variable Quantity option is enabled on a picking type, validate that operation with the actual processed quantity.

If the validated quantity differs from the original demand, the module updates the chained downstream moves to match that new quantity.
