Introduction

The Levenshtein Python C extension module contains functions for fast computation of:

  • Levenshtein (edit) distance, and edit operations
  • string similarity
  • approximate median strings, and generally string averaging
  • string sequence and set similarity

:warning: The package was renamed to Levenshtein and can be found here. The python-Levenshtein package will continue to be updated alongside the new package

Requirements

  • Python 3.7 or later

Installation

pip install levenshtein
